Below is a message from the artist herself;

My name is Paola Barragan, I am 42 years old, a mother of three, and a perfect example of the injustice in the Peruvian court system. I am writing this from a Peruvian jail where I have been sentenced to six years and ten months for a crime I did not commit thanks to a shady lawyer that chose money over justice and a friend that passed the blame of her drug trafficking crime to me rather than name the person she was trafficking for in fear of her life.

I don't do drugs and I have never trafficked them in my life but in Peru you only need someone to say you did something to be guilty and with enough money lawyers and government officials can easily be paid to produce any results someone might want. Thus far I have served one year of my sentence and I am making every effort to raise money to hire legal support that will actually act in my best interest so that I can return to the comfort of my home, hold my children, spend time with my family, and enjoy a life of freedom once again.
